Live Blogging the Guilty Pleasure
Sometimes I'm so annoyed that I enjoy this show. It's the definition of a guilty pleasure. Why do I like "American Idol?" Why?
Oh well, enough of the guilt. Here we go...
One question answered - it's not for Seacrest. Not five seconds into the show and he's annoyed me already.
Bo I - Have no idea what he's singing. He does know the mike comes off the stand, right? He doesn't need to lift the whole stand? To be honest, this isn't his best performance. He's pretty flat.
Overall, not that good. Who wrote that song? Ugh.
Did Randy just say the 'semifinals?'
I thought this was the final.
Moron.
Carrie I - Different song. She looks and sounds very nervous, but she's got a strong voice. This vote is going to be close.
Whoa. Flat. Again, who wrote these songs? Bland pop.
I think Simon is wrong on that one. That was a draw.
Bo II - "Vehicle." Good choice. Sounds comfortable with it and he's doing okay. Quite well, actually. And this guy does have quite a bit of stage presence.
Now onto the judges, who are all likely on a controlled substance.
Carrie II - "Independence Day." That's what I figured. Stronger than the first performance - sounded good.
I didn't like her version of "Crying." I thought this was a better song for her.
Bo III - Wow. This is one vapid tune. I don't think anyone could do this well, but Bo is doing okay with it. Not great, though.
Who wrote this piece of crap?
Does this mean we have to listen to that first, awful, song again done by Carrie? I feel sorry for these guys, having to sing these songs.
Carrie III - She's spitting into the mike. Back off the mike, Underwood. She's doing pretty well with this song. Again, terrible song, though.
A bit flat - she's got the country thing of singing right through her nose.
Well, that's it. I say Bo.
UPDATE - I've just been called courageous. I'm not sure it's in a good way.
