Hey, No One Watches Al-Jazeera

Newsweek’s Washington Bureau Chief Daniel Klaidman was on Al-Jazeera television recently, and said Newsweek is 'neutral' on whether any Koran desecration actually happened. This, after spending the week retracting the story here in the United States.

Today, I got a "Welcome Back" letter from the magazine, as I once subscribed. I plan to use the postage-paid return envelope to send a quick note asking to be removed from their mailing list. I don't like junk mail, and there is mounting evidence that Newsweek presents one face to the world and another to the United States.

Plus, the magazine is just so offensively mediocre. I mean, look at this story from Howard Fineman about how the GOP is in trouble after the judicial deal. Is it just me, or does Fineman write the same stupid story every few months? He just switches the party and the circumstances and boilerplates the rest.

We got a subsciption to Newsweek, one of those use-up-your-frequent-flyer-miles things. It was just junk. A supermarket tabloid on glossy paper.
