13 Percenters

I know it's been a couple of days since the Tax Foundation released its finding that my home state of Maine is the highest-taxed state in the nation. Maine takes 13 percent of my income each year in taxes of various types.

Heck, God only asks for ten.

I like living in Maine. It's a wonderful state with a lot of things going for it - quality of life here is good. But the increasing tax burden this place puts on those of us who live here is making it hard for recent college graduates to stay, and is driving away businesses. All so we can buy laptops for seventh-graders and keep Maine's thriving entitlement system functioning.

If any of you reading this from out of state are Republicans, and want to live in a nice state with a low crime rate and beautiful weather (in the summer and fall, anyway), consider moving to Maine and helping us stranded conservatives retake the state. We need your help.
