Playlist

Before I begin this playlist, I would just like to say I heard a sample of Bruce Springsteen's new song, "Devils & Dust" and, well, I hate to say this...

But it's awful. Truly, no good. I hope the rest of the album makes up for it, because Bruce is the kind of guy you want to root for. AOL asks whether Bruce is trying to take a stand on the Iraq war in the song. I don't care. I just want the music to be good. And this, unfortunately, is not.

After listening to it, I was forced to listen to "Thunder Road," "Born to Run" and "The Rising" just to get the sound of it out of my head, so with that, the first song on my playlist is...

"Thunder Road" by Bruce Springsteen. It's not summer yet, but when it does come, I'm looking forward to listening to this one in my car with the windows rolled down.

"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by U2
. The Joshua Tree was a fantastic album. "Where the Streets Have No Name" is still my all-time favorite song, but this one comes in a close second.

"Karma" by Alicia Keys. Great voice, and the strings are great. Unlike other hip-hop/R&B artists (cough-Beyonce-cough), Keys doesn't feel the need to fill her songs with production - it's all about the music.

"Give a Little Bit" by the Goo Goo Dolls. *Sigh* Don't ask. I just like it.

"The Man Comes Around" by Johnny Cash. Come on, how many country songs were used in a horror movie? Cash sings the book of Revelations here and it works.

"Lead Me On" by Bethany Dillon. I like her voice, and this song, an old Amy Grant tune. And the girl's not even 20 yet - I think we'll see great things from this one.

"Collide" by Howie Day. The guy's from Bangor, Maine - the same city I live in. How can I not listen to and root for him? It helps that this is a good song.

"Right to be Wrong" by Joss Stone. What a voice.

"Stabat Mater" by Paul Schwartz. A different song. A latin poem about the crucifixion set to a quiet new-agey beat.

"Life for Rent" by Dido. Okay, so I'm not that hard core in my musical tastes. So sue me.
