Live-Blogging "Idol"
I have to take my mind off the Terri Schiavo case, so I'm watching "American Idol."
First performer was Anthony Fedorov. He gave a pretty good performance of an "eh" song.
Second was Carrie Underwood - fabulous rendition of Heart's "Alone." Simon paid her one heck of a compliment - the judges like her a lot.
Scott Savol is next, singing "Against All Odds" by Phil Collins. He's turning it into an R&B song, which would be great, but he doesn't have the chops for it. His performance is good, but not outstanding. The judges, except for Simon, liked the performance. I'm with Simon on this one.
Bo Bice is up with a Jim Croce song - "Time in a Bottle." It's good that he's branching out into non-rock or blues songs. This song might not be the best choice for him, though. He's doing a great job with it, but it doesn't match his voice that well.
I can't stand Ryan Seacrest. Don't ask me why. Just an irrational thing.
Nikko - not a big fan of his voice.
Vonzell - great voice. I've always disliked this song, though. Judges like her. Paula made a point of insulting Simon. I would hate working with her.
Constantine Maroulis - A Partridge Family song? Brave, but really not a good song. Ugh.
Nadia - my personal favorite voice on the show. She's doing "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper. Not her best performance, though. What's with the hair?
Mikalah Gordon - makes a Taylor Dane song worse than the original, something I never thought was possible. She needs to go home. She simply cannot sing that well.
Anwar Robinson is onstage. I want this guy and Nadia to be the final two, but they were both off tonight. Bad song choices.
For heaven's sake, Paula - shut up and let Simon talk.
